Avalon Avalon Asset Management Company

About Avalon Asset Management

Avalon Asset Management Company is an investment advisor providing Separately Managed Accounts for clients. Avalon has three general approaches for its managed accounts: Capital Appreciation, Income and Growth, and Specialty Income. Each client receives individualized attention to his or her investment goals and portfolios.

Avalon takes a fundamental approach towards investment decision-making. We favor stocks judged to be undervalued, based upon characteristics such as positive cash flow, balance sheet strength, price and earnings multiples, and business viability. We also invest in growth stocks from time to time if we believe there is a good valuation story, but we are not “momentum” investors. We want to protect your capital! For certain types of client accounts, we may also (if the client is willing) engage in short-selling and other defensive strategies. Stocks can and do get overvalued (sometimes very much so), regardless of what brokers and television analysts might tell you.

We rely upon our own twenty-plus years of experience and our own research, based upon our financial and business analysis of individual companies and economic trends. We do not rely upon anyone else’s recommendations, nor do we use trading programs or “black-box” strategies.

We charge a simple, competitive management fee based upon a percentage of assets and there are no other fees. We do not invest in load mutual funds of any kind and there are no hidden (or not so hidden) sales charges, deferred sales charges or 12b-1 fees. The only compensation we receive is from our clients and we receive no compensation – hidden or otherwise - from transactions or brokerage houses.

Avalon client accounts are secure. Your assets are held in custody by National Financial Services (Fidelity) and your statements come from them. Only you can withdraw funds from your account.

If you think that you could be better off with an investment program tailored to your situation and your needs, rather than one that’s set up to respond to the weekly product flow of Wall Street’s brokers, drop us a line at info@AvalonAssetMgmt.com or call 617-892-4192. We may be able to help.
